Mattia AquilaSummer entertaining season has arrived, so it’s worth investing into a new set tableware to impress your guests at brunches or alfresco toasts. Aquazzura has just arrived on the homeware scene, and your plates and bowls can look as fashionable as your boots and stilettos.
Aquazzura was founded more than 10 years ago, by Edgardo Osorio as creative director. It quickly established itself as a leader in women’s shoes. Case in point: Model Karlie Kloss reportedly donned a pair of the brand’s elegant-yet-forgiving silver flats for a portion of the evening at this year’s Met Gala. This sense of style will make its tabletop debut now with four bold, elegant collections that are inspired by Osorio’s many overseas travels.

The Secret Garden line features lush botanical designs.Mattia AquilaThe original, Jaipur is inspired by India. It has bold blue, pink and red accents set against white ceramic backgrounds. A pineapple is the recurring motif, adding a little fun and whimsy. Aquazzura’s next offering, Cherry Blossom is a line that’s awash with pastel pinks, greens and yellows inspired by Japanese sakura. Secret Garden is inspired by 18th-century Chinese porcelain and features serene botanical landscapes. Tutti Frutti is the most fun of the bunch and features vibrant cherry and lemon designs.

The Jaipur collection’s playful pineapple motif. Aquazzura’s latest collection was launched in Milan at Salone de Mobile. To create a capsule collection, Officine Gullo, a fellow Florence-based manufacturer, was also invited to the event. The newness combined makes for a chic and stylish summer event.
