Canadian singer, The Canadian Singer’s Latest Stunt puts a new spin on music listening while working.

It is not often that one of the most popular musicians in the world crosses over to the DIY world. Abel Tesfaye (music sensation better known as “The Weeknd”) announced earlier this week that he would be printing his latest single using a unique vinyl format: A circular saw blade.

The Weeknd’s “Out of Time” track will be reissued on vinyl as 25 saw blade-shaped records in a collaboration with MSCHF in Brooklyn. MSCHF cautions against using the records in DIY projects.

MSCHF advised that Vinyl Blades should not be used on saws. It is not intended to be used as a functional sawblade. You could inflict serious injury or even death by trying to use Vinyl Blade with a saw.

MSCHF shared the details of the collaboration on a website.

The site states that the record grooves are inscribed into a copper band by direct metal mastering. This is then inset in a saw blade body. The blade is a 12″ carbide-tipped combo blade, which can be used for both rips or crosscuts. It has powdercoated graphics and color.

The auction of all 25 saw blade vinyls took place on April 8, 2022 with a starting price of $1,000.
