DeWalt Recalls 12-in. Sliding Compound Miter Saws – Fine Homebuilding

DeWalt recalls nearly 1.4 Million units of its 12-in. Due to injuries sustained from a defective rear safety guard, sliding compound miter saws were recalled by DeWalt.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission states that “the miter-saw’s rear safety cover can come off or break, posing an injury risk to users and others. It can also cause laceration to anyone who comes in direct contact with the blade.”

DWS779, DWS780 and DHS790 miter saw models were recalled. The date codes for the recalls are between 2019 04 and 2022 04 These models are recalled and users can get a free repair kit, or free repair at a DeWalt center.
